4 Months with My Penelope!

There is no body in this world who makes me smile like she does. It is crazy how one second I can be so tired, so overwhelemed and so frustrated... Then instantly a smile hits my face and I feel much better when she looks at me and gives me a good giggle or grin! 

I'm not going to lie for one second, this past month has by far been the toughest! We hit a major sleep regression which caused extreme anxiety for me with the anticipation of trying to put her to sleep, again and again and again (which is so unlike her, she's always been the best sleeper)! For about 2 solids weeks it was a screaming battle every time we put her to sleep any time of the day. It was horrible. Talk about feeling bad, I felt horrible... Like she thought I was killing her when I tried to rock her! And she would figure every method out, she knew when I gave her her bunny she sleeps with a nap was coming and would just become inconsolable. Then I'd try nursing her to sleep and she figured out that was my new cue and any time I went to feed her, even if she was starving she would get so mad thinking I was trying to make her go to sleep... Something I've realized is these little babies are so much smarter than we realize! Luckily she now is RARELY ever fighting me to go to sleep and I can actually sit in a rocking chair and just rock her to sleep which I've never been able to do before! She's always been a great sleeper so this really rocked my boat, she also had started waking up for night feedings again... Still is! Needless to say Lucas and I are both so exhausted, I feel like I haven't been able to catch up on sleep one tiny bit!

Amongst the craziness she started developing all the new fun "tricks"! She started playing with her feet every time I go to change her diaper, she blows lots of bubbles and tries to mimic my noises! She is so darn smart! She grabs at all her toys and recognizes the difference between her bottle, binki and the breast! It's pretty funny! She's just doing all this new stuff all the time I feel like and it's incredible!

Easter 2015- we had some fun trying to eat plastic eggs! 

I let her pic out her outfit for the first time! I think she loves leopard as much as I do!

She loves to roll around and try to eat her blanket! Even though we haven't seen her flip from back to tummy by herself yet she is always playing on her side, LOVES to sleep on her side and there has been a handful of times when I've checked on her during naps and she's been on her tummy... So I bet she'll be rolling around more and more any time now!

Had our 4 month check up today!! She was just shy of 14 pounds which put her in the 41% for weight and was 24" which kept her at the 26% for height! She did very good and we can start cereal then veggies sometime between now and 6 months whenever we think she's ready!

She's a fabulous baby and just so darn fun, I don't know how Lucas and I got so lucky! She loves being outside and still loves walks, but it's getting a little too hot now for us to walk lately! So we will see where next month takes us! Just SO much happened this past month, it's like we don't have a little tiny baby anymore she's just so grown up!
