This month has been the most amazing month! I can't believe she's learning and growing so much! This by far has been the biggest leap in development I have seen... I mean it's just crazy all the new things she's does now!
She eats bananas and avocado and while she eats we let her sip a little water from a sippy cup and she loves it!! I actually have to hide the sippy cup or else she just reachesfor it the entire meal time! We turn on some lovely music and praise her with every bite she takes, I let her grab the spoon and basically wear her meal if she wants, I just want her to have fun and feel like she is getting to do it herself!
She is still in some 3 month clothes but we've started using some of our 6 month stuff and they seem to fit her pretty darn good! It's fun having a new wardrobe to choose from! She's starting to sit up more by herself, actually bounces in her bouncy chair, plays more own her own, loves loves loves her feet... She has gotten better and napping and sleeping at night (still wakes up for a feeding or two) but we've been working on her falling asleep by herself and she's starting to get the hang of it! Her new thing has been waking up exactly an hour every night after we put her to bed, it's kind of funny! Both Lucas and I attribute that to her "teething" and being more sore in the evening, just about the only thing that will make her calm down when she is really hurting is a cold chewy toy... Or Sophie... Sophie is magic and she L.O.V.E.S. Sophie!!!
I know I keep saying "she's really developing a personality" but this month she REALLY has!! She interacts with us so much more and laughs at us when we do something funny, she talks and giggles and plays with us just like a little kid, sometimes I'm like where in the world did my infant go!? She puts her paci back in her mouth (in the daylight) and passes toys back and forth from hand to hand, she takes one toy and uses it to hit or play with another toy... It's just crazy all these leaps and bounds in development. I'm just blown away by all that has happened this month!
We had our sweet friends in town that have a 2 year old and another little boy that is four days younger than Penelope! Oh my gosh it was so much fun and man I was SO sad when they left! We love the so darn much and it was so fun seeing the kids interact together! We had our second restaurant outing with P while they were here and it went decent, P started to get antsy at the end but over all went well! We also went to the zoo which was a blast, the baby elephants were the cutest things... Next to our friends little two year old calling them "efelants"!!
So many great and wonderful things happened this month! I just can't even believe it! I loved getting to have my first Mother's Day and it was one of the most special days of my life, I will never forget it! I feel like Penelope changes drastically everyday and it's just unbelievable! She seems to be happier, more confident and wiser with each passing second!
